Our History
Leopold Schmidt founded the Olympia Brewery in Tumwater, Washington, more than 100 years ago. He chose the location for its famed artesian wells of sparkling, spring-fed water. Through the years the brewery grew and prospered. For a time it also brewed Pabst Blue Ribbon, Rainier, and Lone Star beers. These brands are part of our proud heritage and helped to make the Olympia Brewery great. In 1983, Pabst Brewing Company officially acquired the Olympia label.
Here's where we come in. O Bee Credit Union was founded in 1955 by Ted McGill, an Olympia Brewery worker. As the Original Credit Union of the Olympia Brewery, we have offered brewery workers and their families exceptional financial services for more than 60 years. We now have the honor of offering our services to Pabst employees and their families as well. Our unique cards celebrate iconic brands that are part of our shared history.
